Methodology

The fact that children can make beautiful music is less significant than the fact that music can make beautiful children.

My violin lessons are conducted both for children and adults, violin amateurs or students who want to prepare official exams (ABRSM and Trinity).

Although "Methodology" can be defined as a body of practices, procedures and rules, according to my personal experience, there are as many methodologies as students. In this way, I try to make my methodology as much flexible as possible to cover the specific needs of everyone. It is essential to start by defining the short and long term objectives of our lessons and establish our goals from the beginning to evaluate the process and finally the results. Every week the student (and parents) receive feedback of the lesson to verify the personal achievements. Parents who want to help their children with the practise at home are always welcome to observe the lessons.

Naturalness of gesture and a proper body posture are some of the principal aspects in which I try to focus in my lessons. We work in detail the technical aspects of the instrument that are put into practice with different exercises, scales, arpeggios, studies and musical pieces both from the classical and popular repertoire. In addition, we also analyse different key points of the theory and history of music through the pieces we study while developing essential aural skills.

Week after week we discover how to study the violin individually planning our personal practise and learning to resolve technical problems that can arise at home. But, most importantly, we learn to love the violin and have fun playing.
